IT GOES TO THE RAVENS

The big game is over. It had its ups, its downs, and its commercials. But in the end, the Baltimore Ravens pulled off a win over the San Francisco 49ers. We were going to celebrate by playing some music videos by bands from the home city of the victor, but we can’t think of any bands that came out of Baltimore. So i guess you can say we were routing for the ’9ers since so much great music came out of there.

Screw it. Some SF music.

Don’t have plans for the Super Bowl yet? Maybe you were thinking of sitting at home and watching it on your 42″ “Big screen”? Well, you know what they say, bigger is better. Sunday Feb. 3 we will be showing the entire game, from pre-pre-game show to the champagne doused post game show wrapup on over 18 big screens, including our brand new 70″ TV. And you can listen to the game through our state of the art sound system to catch every word…. of the commercials. (or the game too I guess)

The 49er’s will take on the Ravens. Come by bring the family, bring the friends and enjoy some of our great Game Day specials we will be offering. Guaranteed to satisfy.

Along with the Niners, San Francisco has produced some legendary Rockers including the Grateful Dead, Santana, Janis Joplin, Metallica, Journey, the Airplane and more. One of California’s most legendary concert was when Led Zeppelin played at the Niners old home at Kezar Stadium in 1973.

WAITING ALL WEEK FOR SUNDAY NIGHT…

Yes its the end of your weekend, but for all you football fans (or if your teams have made it this far), you are itching to see how these Sunday games are going to go. For those of you who shun all interest in sports, and tend to shy away from the usual sports bar crowd… now is the time to get fake some interest! This Sunday will decide who will be flying first class to New Orleans and duke it out at Superbowl XLVII! Doesn’t matter if you hate sports and don’t understand why everyone has been talking about some guy named Ray Lewis, this Sunday is almost it and we’d hate for you to be confused on February 3rd. If anything, be thrilled we might not have to hear that Faith Hill Sunday night theme song for the rest of the year.

The best part is, we’re not your typical sports bar. We just so happen to have a load of TVs, great food, and tons of beers to choose from. Enjoying a nice Sunday afternoon with one or more of those items involved, sounds like a great day to us. So pick a team for fun, or Go Ravens to drive your Patriots friends nuts! Just make us a part of your Sunday Funday this weekend and take in the game-crazy spirit. We’ll also have some great pizza/wing specials to go along with a pitcher of Avery White Rascal or Nelson the Impaler. Here’s the schedule so we can save you a trip to google.

We may not be your everyday sports bar, but we have TVs, loads of beer, and food above par of the average fried sports bar fare. So if you know what was good for you, and the safety of your home, you’d bring your football crazed friends to our place and take a load off the cleaning and beer spills. Starting this weekend, we’ll be playing each playoff game and loading you up with game day food specials! Pizza, wings, pitchers of premium and domestic beers. More than enough to satisfy the biggest eaters.

JACK FM IS STOPPING IN FOR A VISIT

And to broadcast from our gorgeous Beer Garden. If you don’t know about JACK FM, they’re on 93.1FM and pride themselves on playing some great classic rock and none of that modern pop stuff most stations flock to. Plus, with a slogan like “Playing what we want,” it’s no wonder we’re pairing up. So, THIS SUNDAY, they are getting cozy at Rock & Brews to watch some football and enjoy a Sunday Funday with you!

Not only are you going to come into your favorite spot to catch some Sunday football, but you’ll welcome our Jack FM guests with open arms, or you won’t be getting one of those sweet prizes they’ll be giving away! We’re thinking you’re already going to be here for the first game at 10, but in case you’re not… The Jack FM crew will be here from 1pm – 3pm on SUNDAY, JANUARY 6TH for some football, music and lots of prize giveaways!

If you’re thinking Sunday Funday is not a part of your New Years Resolutions… let’s be honest, you weren’t going to keep them anyway.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN

Its that time again when we all get a little Olympic crazy. But its fun. The 30th Olympiad began last night and the opening ceremonies included everyone from Mr. Bean, to James Bond, to Paul McCartney. Oh yeah, they also had fireworks.

Although, i will admit that the best part of the ceremony was the Queen skydiving with James Bond, making one of the best grand Entrances I’ve seen in a while.

Although the ceremony that the Slumdog guy produced was a bit… weird, it was good hearing all the great “70′s” music, even though half of it was from the 60′s. Looks like the Brits got over that whole Sex Pistols thing too. Then of course, McCartney closed it up with a great Hey Jude performance.

Oh yeah, they had fireworks too.

70 YEARS OLD AND STILL HAS A CURFEW

So you may have heard by now that Bruce Springsteen was the headliner for the Hard Rock Calling last week. He played a 3 hour long set of some of his best stuff. He even brought out a “special guest” to perform with. Paul McCartney joined Bruce and the E Street Band. But apparently Hyde Park has a VERY strict curfew and someone was ballsy enough to pull the plug on Paul and Bruce mid-act. No explanation, no chance to explain.

So to get back at them, Paul made this as a little quip while preparing for the opening ceremonies for the Olympics.

THE STANLEY CUP, COMIN’ HOME

We would like to congratulate the Kings once again for bring the Stanley Cup to LA. We also want to give them a big THANK YOU for bringing the cup in last night.

It was all kinds of exciting to have the cup at Rock & Brews and here’s hoping that they win it again next year and bring it by again.
