It won’t be too long until all of your friends and coworkers travel out to that rural, smog free home town they came from for the holidays.  Or perhaps its someone elses hometown with seemingly nothing to do but go to the local hole-in-the-wall bar.  In an effort to calm that anxiety ridden anticipation of old relatives, awkward old friend run-ins, and your mother feeding you to death…we’d like to invite you to our humble beer garden for a Tap Takeover, THIS SATURDAY, Dec 8th.  All brought to you by the locals of Bend, Oregon.  Deschutes Brewery to be more specific.

Not a world traveler myself, but Bend sounds like Deschutes did it a huge favor.  They’ve made a name for themselves for creating some fantastic seasonally available ales, most winning over the beer critics and connoisseurs alike.  A few of which we have been hiding in our vault, and have been itching to see what a year of aging can do to these delicious seasonal releases.   Take for instance the elusive Jubelale.  We’ve had it aging since last year, and to gie you a sneak peak, its a dark, malty celebration ale with layered flavors and beautifully balanced hopping.  Notes of chicory, earth, spice and fruit. To beer lovers, it’s like Yule fire and family.  A fine drink to warm you on these cold winter evenings.

The Stoic, a yummy Quad,  The Abyss, a rich dark imperial stout just released on November… oh we could go on.

The night will also feature the brewers themselves, prizes, giveaways, the whole deal.

Anything to make the Holidays just a little bit more bright and your empty wallet seem a little less depressing.
